The Supreme Heavy Plus 165 LPD Sleeper Model Solar Water Heater is an evacuated tube system with an enamel-steel glass-lined tank, sized for a family of 3 to 4. It uses 16 tubes to heat a 165 litre tank rated to handle water hardness up to 2000 ppm, and it needs the overhead tank just 1 foot above terrace level.
The sleeper design solves a real installation problem. Most gravity-fed solar water heaters need your overhead tank sitting at least 6 feet above the terrace to generate enough head for the water to flow. On a lot of Indian rooftops that simply is not the case the Sintex sits low, or the terrace layout does not allow a raised platform, and buyers are told a solar water heater will not work for them. The sleeper model is designed for exactly that situation: it requires only 1 foot of height above the terrace. If you have been told your rooftop cannot take a gravity-fed system, this is the model to ask about.
Built for hard water. The inner tank is enamel steel with a glass-lined coating, rated to handle water hardness up to 2000 ppm. On borewell supply, where mineral-heavy water destroys an ordinary tank in three to four years, that coating and rating are what give the tank a long working life. Which 165 LPD do you need? Supreme makes two at this capacity. The standard Heavy Plus has a thicker 2.5mm tank and a 20-year warranty, but needs your overhead tank 6 feet above the terrace. This Sleeper model has a 2mm tank and works with just 1 foot of height. If your rooftop can accommodate the head, the standard model gives you the heavier tank and longer cover; if it cannot, the sleeper is what makes solar possible at all.
