The Supreme 3kW Solar Electrical Backup Coil is a heating element that fits inside a solar water heater tank and heats the water electrically when sunlight is not available. It uses a copper tube element with long-lasting nickel plating, an engineering plastic handle, and a hanging hook for safe operation.
When to choose 3kW over 2kW. The rating determines how quickly the coil heats your tank. A 2kW coil is right for most domestic tanks up to around 200 litres; a 3kW coil heats faster and suits larger tanks 300 litres and above where a 2kW element would take an impractically long time to bring the volume up to temperature. If you have a large-capacity system, or a household that needs hot water quickly on a cloudy morning rather than after an hour's wait, 3kW is the right rating. Tell our team your tank size and we will confirm which suits it an undersized coil on a large tank is a slow, frustrating backup.
When you need it at all. A solar water heater runs on sunlight, which means through monsoon and extended cloudy spells the tank does not heat on its own. A backup coil covers that gap. You switch it on for the time you need hot water, then switch it off it is a backup, not a replacement, so your heater still runs on the sun for most of the year.
Why the build matters. The heating element is copper tube finished in long-lasting nickel plating, and that plating is what determines how long the coil survives. It resists the scaling caused by mineral-heavy water, which is what burns out unplated elements within a season or two. On the hard borewell water common across much of India, an unplated element is a repeat purchase; a nickel-plated one is not.
Handling and safety. The engineering plastic handle gives complete protection during handling, and the hanging hook allows safe operation and storage.
Fit it during your water heater installation or retrofit it to an existing tank. Fitting at installation saves a second service visit.
SolarClue is India's managed solar marketplace. Our team confirms 3kW is the correct rating for your tank size and that the coil fits your water heater, and fits it through the same verified installation partners who handle your water heater so one team is accountable for both.
