A thick tank at the entry capacity. The inner tank is galvanised iron with a glass coating at 3.0mm noticeably thicker than most tanks at this capacity, which typically run 1.6 to 2mm. Tank thickness and coating together determine how long a heater survives your water, and at 3mm with a glass coating this is built more substantially than the price point usually allows. That is the advantage of a house brand: the specification is set by what lasts rather than what a distributor's margin permits.
Flat plate technology. A single flat plate collector absorbs sunlight across its full surface and heats water directly into the tank the proven, low-maintenance technology, reliable in strong direct sun. On cold early mornings and heavy overcast it warms more slowly than an evacuated tube system, which is a real trade-off, though for a household that bathes later in the day it makes no practical difference.
Rated to 8 bar for pressurized supply. At 8 bar this handles the pressure a booster pump delivers, supplying hot water at the same pressure as the rest of your plumbing so your shower stays strong when you switch from cold to hot.
On hard water. The 600 ppm rating suits soft to moderately hard supply. If your borewell water runs harder as much of Bangalore and Hyderabad does a glass-lined ETC unit rated to 2000 ppm will outlast this one.
