The 4kW On-Grid Solar Power System is a home rooftop system generating 480 to 600 units per month, designed to cut your electricity bill by generating your own power and exporting the surplus to the grid.
Who this system is for. If your monthly electricity consumption runs between 480 and 600 units, this system is sized to cover it a larger home with more air conditioning or higher daytime usage than a 3kW system handles. Check your latest bill: if your monthly units fall in that range, this is the system that matches your usage. Below it, the 3kW is the more economical fit; above it, look at 5kW.
How an on-grid system works, and how you get paid. When sunlight hits the panels, they produce DC power, which the inverter converts to the AC your home uses. Your appliances run on it directly during the day. When you generate more than you consume, the surplus flows to the grid; at night, when generation is zero, your home draws from the grid as usual. A bidirectional (net) meter counts both directions the units you take and the units you send back and your bill is calculated on the net. If you consume more than you generate, you pay the difference; if you generate more, the credit carries forward. Over the year, net metering turns your roof into a steady reduction on your bill.
The subsidy, and how it works above 3kW. Under PM Surya Ghar, the residential subsidy reaches its maximum at 3kW. This 4kW system still qualifies, but the subsidy amount is the 3kW maximum, not a proportionally larger figure you get the full subsidy the scheme allows, applied to a larger system, and the capacity above 3kW pays for itself through generation rather than additional subsidy. That is worth understanding clearly before you buy, because a bigger system does not mean a bigger subsidy. SolarClue handles the entire process eligibility, application, DISCOM coordination, and payout and our team will show you the net cost and payback for a 4kW at your consumption.
SolarClue is India's managed solar marketplace. We deliver this as a fully managed installation: our team confirms the 4kW system matches your consumption, handles your PM Surya Ghar subsidy application end to end, and coordinates design, structure, wiring, net-meter liaisoning with your DISCOM, and commissioning through verified partners. You book with a token payment rather than the full amount upfront. Talk to our team for the current price after subsidy and the installation timeline in your city.
