The AquaGuard AWS 5000 Water Softener with Zumbo Filter is a fully automatic hard water softener built for larger homes and villas. It converts hard incoming water into soft water using golden resin media, with a 75 litre resin quantity, a 120 kg salt drum, and a programmable process valve that regenerates without any manual intervention.
Hard water does two things you notice and one you don't. You notice the scum after a bath, the stiff laundry, the soap that never lathers. What you don't see is the scaling quietly building inside your geyser, washing machine, taps and solar water heater tank. A water softener for home use sits at your inlet and conditions the water before it reaches any of them.
This is the larger of the two AquaGuard units, and the numbers tell you who it is for. Seventy-five litres of resin against 25 in the AWS 2500, and a 120 kg salt drum against 50 kg. Each recharge consumes 7.4 kg. That combination means longer intervals between refills and more soft water per cycle — the specification for a villa, a large household, or a building with several bathrooms running at once. Most FPC tanks are rated to 600 ppm; above that, the tank corrodes years before its warranty runs out, and replacing one means dismantling the system off your roof.
